A simple guide to choosing the right WUKA style and caring for your period pants. Find the best fit for everyday wear, heavy or overnight protection, sports, first periods and more. Easy 40°C care and up to 12 hours of wear.

Midi Brief gives a mid rise everyday fit. High Waist adds extra tummy and back coverage. Bikini and Hipster feel low profile while staying protective. Shorts and Boxers have a longer leg for extra coverage. Leggings include a built in gusset for workouts. Thong is for light flow and tight outfits. Swimwear is made for pool and beach. Sleep or Overnight styles use an extended back gusset for lying down. Stretch styles flex across multiple sizes.
Choose High Waist or Midi in Heavy or Super Heavy for strong flow. For sleep, pick Sleep or Overnight styles with a high back gusset for full lying down coverage. Aim for up to 12 hours of wear, and change sooner if you start to feel wet.
Shorts and Boxers are great under skirts and dresses because the longer leg adds confidence. Leggings are ideal for yoga, running or gym days because the built in gusset stays put. Swim styles let you enjoy the pool or sea on moderate flow days.
For first periods or lighter days, start with Medium absorbency in Bikini, Midi or Hipster. Teen Stretch is a good option because it grows with changing bodies and keeps things simple.
Pick WUKA Stretch if your size changes through the month. One pair flexes across multiple sizes, so it stays comfortable during bloating and body changes.
For a full switch most people use 5 to 7 pairs across different absorbencies. To start, try 3 to 5 pairs, then add a heavier or overnight style for the strongest days.
Up to 12 hours, depending on your flow and the absorbency you choose. On very heavy days or long shifts, change earlier or move to a higher absorbency or overnight style.
Rinse in cold water after use, then machine wash at 40°C without fabric softener. Air dry only. This protects the absorbent layers and helps each pair last up to 2 years.

Rinse your pants or pads in cold water as soon as possible after use

RINSE OR WASH

After use, give them a quick rinse. It’s up to you where you choose to rinse your pants - some of us prefer to use a sink, some prefer to rinse in the shower, and others even have a dedicated WUKA-rinsing bucket! (Now that’s some true WUKA love!)

Machine Washable - place your pants or pads in the washing machine and wash at 30°

Machine Wash

Pop your WUKAs in the washing machine with similar, dark coloured garments and wash at 30 to 40 degrees. (We recommend 30, as it’s better for the environment!).

Our Seamless, Swim Brief and Re-Purpose pants should be washed in cold water. We also recommend washing any WUKAs with mesh or lace in a wash bag. This will help prolong the life and the strength of the mesh.

Use your favourite detergent as normal, but please don’t use fabric conditioner. Fabric conditioner can reduce the absorbency of your period pants over time, which isn’t ideal.

Alternatively, WUKA Period Pants love to be hand washed. Not everyone has the time for this, but hand washing can extend their lifespan.

Air dry your WUKA period pants and pads on the washing line or on an airer

Dry

Air dry your WUKA Period Pants outside on the line or indoors on an airer - it’s up to you (or the weather). They tend to dry faster when they’re inside out, too.

First impression

Great first impression! The only period pants I've bought with a high enough gusset!

They're not bulky like other period pants and the seams are way more comfortable than other brands. It makes me wonder if they are as high absorbency as they say but I have high hopes.

So nice to have some high waisted period pants that actually look pretty. Especially as they're high waisted - good for someone like me that doesn't like the feel of pants sitting on my c-sec scar.
